| I had my car tuned to 11:1 A/F as recommended, knowing that this is a considerably richer mixture than the theoretical 14:1 stocheometric ratio. From the frequent backfiring I get and from the carbon deposits on my rear bumper, I can see that the car's running rich. Using 94 Octane at 19psi, I've never heard her ping. So the question is: what's to tell me that my ideal ratio isn't 12:1, or 13:1?
